Who?
Who is Washwords? PLEASE GO HERE
If you’re on this page because I begged, cajoled, manic-messaged you, then you already know who I am – be nice!
But if you’ve stumbled upon me, I’ve chosen to remain quasi-anonymous for a few reasons. I can share more detail with anyone who cares but in sum, I think I wanted to be read objectively and write the same way, NOT for a particular group, but for whoever it appeals to (and I hope that will be you, whether you know me or not).
By way of introduction, I am a lifelong writer/editor living in Washington, D.C. I work for the government, editing reports and helping social scientists translate their research into “plain English” but have freelanced, been a staff writer for publications including: Newsweek, The Washington Post, Syracuse Herald Journal, Syracuse New Times, Montgomery Gazette (Maryland), Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, and a lot of other places, most of you’ve never heard of, where I learned a lot and met some AMAZING people. I’m also 35-ish, female, been married and divorced (stayed friends as much as that’s possible), am (finally) dating a really great guy (and have some great dating battle stories to prove it), own a place in the city but have lived in surburbia. I don’t have children but consider myself truly blessed to have a niece I love to pieces and a lot of great kid friends. Likewise I don’t have pets, but have two very special dog friends.
Thank you for reading, writing, stay tuned. I’ll update this as I figure out more and more about what I’d like it to be. You can help – write me!

Anonymo-girl! Love it. More, please.

You are really good at this begging and cajoling thing as you twisted my arm to go to see an 80s legend =)

Hi, isn’t that visitor map cool? I’ve discovered a few things about it. That large red dot around Virginia is all the AOL visitors. All of AOL’s traffic goes through one POP in VA.
Also, that dot off the coast of Africa? At first I was thinking “Wow, that’s so cool ! Some guy on a boat is checking out my blog…. Turns out it’s a military base on an island off of Africa.”

Editor’s note from Washwords: One of the copyright violaters who’s stealing my stuff without attribution follow. (I left it here so all it would know.
[...] Who: will tell you (duh) who this washwords person is. Well, kinda. Again, some of you know exactly who I am (mom!) but some of you don’t, so shhh. I’m going incognito. The page tells you more about why. [...]
Editor/author again Dear “Car sites”: I don’t mind the auto-reply-publizing your own site but attribution please. Otherwise, it’s, you know plagarism and that’s bad. Thanks. Here’s how it’s SUPPOSED to work (thanks poplife): poplife
Cheers! washy!

hi! I saw that you had friended me on blog catalog. I didn’t know you, so I went to your blog…you live in DC? What are the odds? I’m there this week training for work. What a coincidence! Or is it? Are you stalking me? Why would anyone waste their time on that? ;o)
